Shmoo

Bio
Yes, that's me in 1948 at age 4,
on a Shmoo
from Lil' Abner's comics
.

From 1950 to about 1975 I did wildlife art of every kind, in
preparation for the illustration I'm doing in the the 21st century.

In the early 1960's I had a weekly comic strip in my high school paper characterizing the teachers. I designed the jump circle for the brand new gymnasium floor and the decals depicting the school mascot.

In the 1970's I built an art gallery in the new student union building at college using materials from a local museum, featuring local community artists as well as student art, which persuaded the college to ad art to the all science curriculum.

In the 1980's I did graphic design and illustration for various organizations while working as a system's analyst, and as a building repair contractor.

In 1990 I began doing illustration full time both by hand and digitally for ads and children's books. How could I not?

Now, in the 21st Century, I'm designing for license. Looking for partners for my paper and fabric designs, as well as my characters. This is a new adventure for a new century.
